# How to use videos on presell pages

Every editable presell that has an image can have a video in its place. And the video doesn't look like YouTube: it plays through **AdsPlay**, the AdsX player, with a play button of your choice, pulsing play, muted autoplay in the background and a smart progress bar. More plays, more retention, more conversion. All you need is a YouTube link.

## Step 1: put the video on YouTube

If the video isn't on YouTube yet, upload it to your channel (it's free) and set its visibility to **Unlisted**. It won't show up in YouTube searches, but it plays normally on your presell.

Copy the video link (the same one in the browser address bar or in the Share button).

## Step 2: replace the image with the video

1. In the side menu, open **Presell Pages** and click the pencil on the presell you want to edit.
2. Click the image the video will replace.
3. In the bar that appears above the page, click **Replace with video** (play icon).
4. Paste the link and click **Apply**.

Done: the image becomes the video cover, with the play button on top. In the editor you only see the cover; the video plays on the published page.

## Step 3: tune AdsPlay

With the video selected, the bar shows the AdsPlay features:

- **Play button**: pick one of the three models (black, red or purple) by clicking the thumbnail. Next to it, the **Play** control changes the button size.
- **Pulse**: the play button keeps pulsing, with a soft beat that draws the eye and invites the click. Turn it on with the switch.
- **Auto play**: the video starts playing on its own, muted, behind the play button as soon as the page opens. When the visitor clicks play, it restarts from the beginning with sound. On by default.
- **Smart progress**: shows a progress bar at the bottom of the video that moves faster at the start and slows down. The visitor feels the video is moving along and stays until the end. Turn it on with the switch.
- **Size**: the width of the video on the page.
- **Replace with video**: changes the link and keeps your settings.
- **Replace with image**: removes the video and goes back to an image (you pick the file right away).

When you're done, click **Save and publish**.

## What the visitor sees

- The video plays without YouTube's controls, title bar or suggested videos. When paused, the cover comes back on top. At the end, the cover returns and one click restarts from zero.
- With Auto play, the video is already running when the page opens, and the sound comes in on click.
- With Smart progress, the red bar follows the video along the bottom.

All of this works on mobile and desktop, with no extra setup.

## Tips

- **Video not playing on the presell?** Check that it's "Unlisted" or "Public" and that, in the video's advanced settings on YouTube, **Allow embedding** is turned on.
- **Vimeo and .mp4 files also work** in the link field, but the full AdsPlay (auto play and smart progress) is for YouTube videos. With Vimeo you can still choose the play button; with .mp4 the browser's own player is used.
- **Changed something and it didn't show?** Save and publish again; the published page only changes after saving.
