# How to Set Up the Google Ads Tag/Pixel

> **${color}[#7C3AED](The screen has a new look since the video below was recorded.)** The field to paste the Tag script is now under the **Pixels and Scripts** button, in the domain row under **My domains**. Apart from this detail, the steps to get the Tag are still the same.

Installing the Google Ads Tag (also known as the "pixel") is **mandatory**: Google itself requires it and, without it, shows error alerts in your account. The good news is that the process is extremely simple — and you only do it once.

## How to install

The video above shows the complete step by step for setting up, getting, and installing the Tag. Best of all: once you install the Tag on your domain, AdsX automatically adds it to **all your presell pages**. You don't need to repeat anything page by page.

## Did Google show an alert after the setup?

Don't worry: it's just an alert and can be ignored. If you want to resolve it, click **"Set up your domains"** and accept Google's suggestions.

## Frequently asked questions

### 1 — Can I install more than one Tag on the same domain?

Yes, that's very common. Just paste one tag script right after the other, in the spot shown in the video.

### 2 — Can I install the MCC Tag on the same domain?

Yes, it's the same procedure as item 1. In that case, we recommend adding the MCC tag **and also** the tag of the sub-account that will run the ad — but feel free to do it however you prefer.

### 3 — I installed the tag, but Google says it's not installed. Why?

1. **Cause 1:** the tag installed on the domain is not the same as the Google account/sub-account you're using to validate. Redo the installation procedure as shown in the video above.
2. **Cause 2:** the tag wasn't installed as the video demonstrates. Redo the installation procedure as shown in the video above.

### 4 — I'm still not sure the Tag is set up. What now?

Install Google's official extension, [Tag Assistant](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/tag-assistant/kejbdjndbnbjgmefkgdddjlbokphdefk), to check. Once installed, open your domain and launch the extension in your browser: it shows the tags running on the page.

> Note: the video is narrated in Portuguese, but the steps are identical in any language — the Google Ads screens follow the same flow shown on screen.
