How to Create the Conversion Goal for Sales Tracking
The conversion goal (action) is the destination where AdsX sends your sales inside Google Ads — without it, conversions can't be uploaded. You create it once, following the video below.
This setup only makes sense if your plan includes sales tracking.
Attention!
Right after creating the Conversion Goal, Google Ads may show the warning "Conversions: issues detected". This is normal and happens because no conversion has been recorded yet.
You can ignore this message. As soon as the first conversion is successfully uploaded, Google Ads will recognize the goal correctly.
Never add the Conversion Tag to a Presell page.
Doing so records a false conversion every time someone visits the page, completely compromising your campaign's metrics and optimization.
Don't confuse the Global Tag with the Conversion Tag (Goal).
Frequently asked questions
1. Can I use the same goal for all campaigns, or do I need one per campaign?
You can use the same one.
Google itself recommends using a single conversion action per Google Ads account. That said, you're free to create as many actions as you want.
For AdsX it makes no difference — we simply send the conversions to the action you configure.
2. Can I keep the account's default conversion action instead of creating a custom goal?
Yes.
AdsX simply sends conversions to the configured action, whether it's the account's default action or a custom goal.
3. Does this conversion action work with the "Maximize conversions" bidding strategy using target CPA?
Yes.
The conversion action created by following this tutorial is compatible with strategies like Maximize conversions and target CPA.
4. Can I create this conversion action in the MCC and use it across my sub-accounts?
Yes.
AdsX is compatible with conversion actions created both in the sub-account and in the MCC.
However, the procedure taught in our tutorials and officially supported is creating and using the conversion action directly in the sub-account. That's the recommended setup, as it's the simplest and most predictable.
If you choose to use an action created in the MCC, or any setup different from the one taught by AdsX, the responsibility for the configuration and the correct receipt of conversions is entirely yours.
If Google Ads doesn't accept conversions sent to an MCC-created action, just create a new action directly in the sub-account and configure it in AdsX.
AdsX simply sends conversions to the action you configure. Whether those conversions are accepted or rejected is determined exclusively by Google Ads' rules and settings, over which AdsX has no control.
