How to set up a Google Ads account signing in with Google
Connecting your Google account is the first step to using AdsX with Google Ads: this connection is what lets you track your campaign metrics on the dashboard, automate campaign creation, and — on the Escala Max plan — send your sales back to Google for optimization. You do it only once, in a few clicks.
On the Google Accounts screen, use the Add account via Google Sign-in button:

Prefer to follow along in video? This is the same lesson available in AdsAcademy (audio in Portuguese, English subtitles available). It was recorded when the screen had a single button; there are now two, and the one in the video is Add account via Google Sign-in:
Step 1 — Connect your Google account
- In the left menu, click Google Accounts.
- Click the Add account via Google Sign-in button, on the right.
- In the Google window that opens, choose the account you use with Google Ads. Depending on your account's settings, Google may ask for your password or a verification code — that's Google's normal security.
- Click Continue, scroll to the bottom of the page, and click Continue again.
- Wait a few moments: Google validates the connection and, once done, your email appears connected on the screen, with your Google Ads accounts and sub-accounts listed right below — including each one's status (active or suspended).
Step 2 — Activate metrics
With the account connected, you can activate the daily delivery of metrics to your dashboard:
- On your account's row, click the Activate Google Ads metrics button (the bar-chart icon).
- Sign in to Google again if prompted.
- Click Open authorization — a new Google tab opens. Select the same email you connected and click Allow.
- At the end, Google shows a page with an address (URL) in the bar at the top. Copy that address (click it and press Ctrl+C).
- Go back to the AdsX window, paste the address into the indicated field, and click Activate. Activation completes in a few seconds.
Step 3 — Where to see the results
From activation on, Google sends a daily summary of the previous day's metrics, and they show up on your dashboard. The history builds over time: each day adds a new day of data, and within a few weeks you have the full picture of which account and which campaign are performing best.
Tips
- Sub-accounts didn't show up after connecting? It may have been a momentary connection hiccup. Delete the connection on the same screen and click Add account via Google Sign-in again — this doesn't affect your Google account at all, it's just the connection to AdsX.
- Created a new Google Ads account after connecting? It won't appear automatically. Click the reload button on the Google Accounts screen and AdsX fetches the new accounts and adds them to the list.
- Google asked for a Passkey and you couldn't sign in? See the article "How to fix the Passkey prompt when signing in with your Google account" here in the helpdesk.
- Still can't connect? You can add the account with the Add account without Google Sign-in button, using the account's email and ID. Campaign creation and conversion reporting work as usual; only the metrics dashboard isn't available for that account. See How to set up a Google Ads account without signing in with Google for the steps.
